If Only..

If only I could go back in time..
I would go back to being a child, at the drop of a dime,
When there always, was a lap to cry on,
fall, get up , and nothing to brood on,
Some one to ask , hey why do you cry?
some one to cheer , and show the clouds pass by..

A big life ahead, that I could color on my own,
No strings attached, and be on my own..
To believe in a story that was just a tale,
To belong to someone, and no one to fail,
when tangled lace was the only complicacy,
and blowing the candles, was the only fantasy.

Ah, those numerous tadpoles to watch,
The smell of sand and the water in the porch !
When days were long , and nights were sound,
No time to heed , no duties to bound..
How I wished I grew up fast and tall,
And now I wish, I had not wished that at all !
